Artists and Ceviche

I had the privilege of meeting with a group of the most prominent artists in Sarasota last night. I was invited to have dinner with the Sarasota Arts Council to discuss how they can assist us artists in town for further exposure and some form of unity. Most of us already knew each other from Green Contemporary, Mack B Gallery as well as a few other venues but have never gotten together for this type of setting. Sitting with Kevin Costello, Tobey Albright, Sabrina Smalls, Joseph Arnegger, Tim Jaeger and others made for a great evening and a wonderful experience.

Having experience working with groups of artists and no help from outside organizations, it was somewhat of the same thing listening to the memebers of the Arts Council and what they are willing to do. To some degree, it is the positivity of their fervor in moving forward and leaving what didn’t work in the past while setting new goals for the future. I am thankful to be a part of this discussion as well as making new relationships.

Joseph would most likely call what I’m doing by writing this post, diarreah!, but I had to give him a shout out. Tim is very motivated, I’m excited for the next meeting and will keep this blog updated with our progress.
