Angela & India
18th April, 2007My good friend Angela is about to take a trip to India. When she first told me about her plans my hands starting to sweat a little, I got nervous. With all the noise going on in different parts of the world, my conscious takes hold of me. It’s similar to when someone is standing too close to the top of a flight of stairs and a stranger passes them by. Or when you’re waiting for the train in the depths of the subway by yourself. You can’t help to consider someone pushing you (which was a problem when I was living in Williamsburg). In a heated political climate, it is hard for me to be overly excited for my good American friend to travel to lands where not everyone is welcome. Granted, India is a place that is more welcoming than others, but it sure is close to lands that are filled with people full of hate. I wish her the best of travels and anticipate her safe return.
So, last Sunday she invited some friends over for a going away. Her grandparents were kind enough to have it at their beautiful house on Siesta Key, Florida. I took some photos with my zippo camera, but not all came out so well. I’ll share what I can!
